La primera herramienta, llamada CaptureX, es un utilitario integrado en el sistema de catalogación de Glifos (www.glifos.com) que permite al catalogador localizar el registro deseado en los catálogos de otras bibliotecas y trasladar la información al sistema local. La segunda herramienta es la LEMB Digital (www.lembdigital.com), que agiliza la tarea de asignar los encabezamientos de materia. Y la tercera, el servicio WebDewey de OCLC (www.oclc.org/dewey/versions/webdewey) que se mantiene al día, y que permite buscar por descriptores y por números y construir el número con ayuda de las tablas. Nuestro reporte describe la funcionalidad, costo, e implementación de cada herramienta; los cambios que su uso ha traído al trabajo del departamento de procesos técnicos en cuanto a mejoras en rendimiento y calidad del trabajo de los catalogadores; y los posibles cambios en su mentalidad, dada la forma como se percibe la herramienta.
