Marietta Tuena de Gómez-Puyou y el Dr. Armando Gómez-Puyou en el mundo de la bioenergética mitocondrial. Describe el impacto de nuestro trabajo en el marco del desarrollo de la Teoría Quimiosmótica de Peter Mitchell. También relata algunas de nuestras aportaciones y las de algunos de los actuales investigadores formados en nuestros laboratorios, en los campos del transporte y fosforilación oxidativa mitocondriales. Asimismo, explicamos el impacto de estos trabajos en el conocimiento actual del metabolismo mitocondrial y la novedosa estructura 3D de las crestas mitocondriales, además de nuevos avances en la estructura, la regulación y la evolución de la ATP sintasa bacteriana y mitocondrial.
